Overview

Active noise-suppressing over-the-head earmuffs have integrated electronics that amplify speech to allow workers to communicate and compress ambient and impulse sound to a consistent level. Active suppression can be turned off so earmuffs block sound passively. Over-the-head earmuffs are the most common form and are worn when hard hats and faceshields are not required.
